Originally established as a secondary school offering Grades 7–12 through the renowned Liger Secondary Education Program, AUPP Liger combines rigorous academic learning with project-based, experiential education that empowers students to solve real-world challenges and create meaningful impact.
AUPP Liger opened its doors to fee-paying students in August 2024, beginning a new chapter in private school education in Cambodia. Although AUPP Liger officially opened in 2024, it is built upon the distinguished legacy of the Liger Leadership Academy, which was founded in 2012 as a non-profit organization dedicated to identifying and developing Cambodia’s most promising young leaders.
For more than a decade, the Liger Leadership Academy has earned international recognition for its innovative curriculum, transformative learning model, and commitment to leadership, entrepreneurship, and community impact. In 2024, the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) proudly continued this legacy by investing in the future of Cambodian education—preserving the Liger educational philosophy while expanding access to more students and families.
Responding to the growing trust, confidence, and strong demand from existing families and the wider community, AUPP Liger has expanded to include a Primary School (Grades 1–6) beginning in the 2026–2027 academic year.
This expansion reflects our commitment to providing a seamless educational journey that begins at an earlier age, allowing students to develop the academic foundations, character, leadership qualities, creativity, and entrepreneurial mindset needed for lifelong success.
Our Primary School adopts the internationally recognized Victorian Curriculum 2.0, providing a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, inquiry, and critical thinking while nurturing curiosity, confidence, collaboration, and a genuine love of learning. Students also benefit from purposeful opportunities to develop leadership, digital literacy, creativity, and global citizenship within a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment.
By introducing Primary School, AUPP Liger enables families to begin their children’s educational journey with us from an earlier stage, ensuring a smooth and connected pathway into our distinctive secondary program. Together, these programs create a continuous learning experience designed to prepare students not only for university, but for leadership, innovation, and meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.
