Dominic has worked in a range of sectors in Cambodia since 2006. He believes leadership is a practice, not a position. Dominic has a strong background in entrepreneurship and nonprofits, having founded two successful businesses in London as well as serving as the co-founder and trustee of non-profit The Cambodian Children’s Charity. Dominic was Country Director of Liger from 2012 to 2024 and is a true advocate of disruptive, innovative education as a tool to lessen the gap between what is being learned and what business and the future needs. He believes that people from sectors outside of institutional education should be involved with education – not to work against, but to work with, educationalists. Dominic is proud to have been an integral part of Liger since the beginning and continues to be inspired by the model. Dominic spearheaded the evolution of the model from NGO to a sustainable independent academy and is excited about strategizing future growth.
In 2025, Dominic was awarded the Royal Order of Monisaraphon; Mahasena or Knight Grand Officer (GOM). The King of Cambodia, Norodom Sihamoni honored Dominic Sharpe for his contribution to the development of the education sector through his efforts, skills, talents and leadership to The Liger Charitable Foundation and Liger Leadership Academy in the Kingdom of Cambodia.
